Parenting can be an incredibly rewarding experience, but I also understand there’s a major learning curve that comes with raising an autistic person. Our kids will challenge most of what we learned and thought we understood related to parenting. It can be confusing, frustrating, and at times feel hopeless. I found myself asking the question, “What am I doing wrong,” on many occasions. Getting to a place of mutual respect and trust in my relationship with my son involved a change in my own perspective and a deeper understanding of how my life experiences and my understanding of autism shaped me and my parenting style.

I want to share what I have learned and help other families like my own navigate this unique journey in a way that protects their mental health and allows them to thrive. While there will be some identifiable commonalities, I understand each person’s lived experience is different and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. I am here to validate your experience and to collaborate with you to figure out what works best for you and your family.
